Read-aloud story

The story of Bl. Thomas Ochia Jihyoe

About 6 min

A Japanese priest with wanted posters on every tree who kept sneaking out at night in disguise to bring Communion to Catholics in prison.

The wanted posters went up on posts and trees all over Nagasaki. They showed the face of a man called Kintsuba, and everyone was to watch for him. Kintsuba was a priest. His real name was Thomas Ochia Jihyoe, and he was hiding in a cave outside the city, sneaking out after dark to bring the Sacraments to Catholics the government had locked up.
