Attend Mass daily or more frequently
Make a commitment to attend Mass during the week one or more times during Lent if you can. This is an excellent way to increase your devotion and your focus on unifying your prayers, works, and sorrows with Our Lord’s.
Stations of the cross
On Fridays during Lent, attend or perform the Stations of the Cross.
The Stations of the Cross depict 14 events in the Passion of Jesus Christ, beginning with Jesus being condemned to death and ending with His body being laid in a tomb. The pious practice of praying the Stations of the Cross originated in medieval Europe when pilgrims were unable to visit the Holy Land, so instead “visited” these Holy places through prayer.
St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan order, authored Stations of the Cross that popularized the devotion throughout the world. Today, you’ll find Stations of the Cross in almost every Catholic Church, particularly prayed on Lenten Fridays, but available throughout the year for meditation and reflection.
We highly recommend St. Alphonsus Liguori’s small booklet “Stations of the Cross”.

Go to a fish fry on fridays during lent
Catholic parishes often offer a fish fry in the United States during Lent. This is a fun and enjoyable way to stay connected with your fellow Catholics during our time with Christ in the desert. Don’t overeat (Friday is a penitential day after all), but enjoy the fellowship.
Also, as a bonus, many parishes pair their fish fry with stations of the cross to make it easier and more edifying!
Attend Weekly Confession
Weekly confession might be one of the best things you can do to pour gas on your spiritual development—and Lent is the best time of year to commit to more frequent confession (if not weekly!).
