About Gregory Bottaro

Dr. Greg Bottaro is a Catholic psychologist, founder of the CatholicPsych Institute, and creator of the groundbreaking CatholicPsych Model of Applied Personalism (CPMAP). With a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences, he leads the mission to “Create a Catholic Standard for Mental Health” by seamlessly integrating Catholic philosophy and theology with evidence-based psychological practice.

Before entering psychology, Dr. Bottaro spent four years as a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal in the Bronx under the mentorship of Fr. Benedict Groeschel. This formative experience in the spirituality of Abandonment to Divine Providence now deeply informs his therapeutic approach and understanding of discernment.

Since founding the CatholicPsych Institute in 2012, Dr. Bottaro has served clients worldwide and recently launched the CPMAP Certification program to train other mental health professionals in integrated accompaniment. He hosts the popular Being Human podcast and regularly speaks on the intersection of faith and psychology.

Dr. Bottaro lives in Connecticut with his wife, Barbra, and their eight children, bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to his work with families navigating the complexities of faith, mental health, and modern life.
