Benedictus App: Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Benedictus account and its associated data. Benedictus is published by Sophia Institute Press (app ID com.sophiainstitute.benedictus).

How to request deletion

Complete the form at the bottom of this page. Use the same email address you sign in to the Benedictus app with — we cannot locate your account without it.
Choose whether you want your entire account deleted, or only your app activity (favorites and reading/listening progress) removed while keeping your account.
Confirm that you understand the deletion is permanent, then submit the form.
You will receive an acknowledgement email immediately. Our customer service team will verify that you own the account and may contact you if we need to confirm your identity.
We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, and usually within a few business days. You will receive a final email once the deletion is complete.

What data is deleted

When you request full account deletion, we permanently delete:

Your name and email address
Your account credentials and sign-in tokens
Your app preferences and settings
Your favorites and bookmarks
Your reading and listening progress, including audiobook and ebook position data
Any content you downloaded for offline use, which is removed from your device when you sign out
Device and diagnostic data associated with your account

What data is kept, and for how long

We retain purchase and subscription records — including order numbers, transaction dates, and amounts — for 7 years. We are legally required to keep these records for tax, accounting, and audit purposes. Wherever possible, these records are disassociated from your deleted profile and retained only in aggregate or pseudonymized form. They are not used to contact you or to rebuild your account.

After the 7-year retention period expires, these records are deleted in the normal course of our records-retention schedule.

Important things to know before you delete

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We cannot restore a deleted account.
You will lose access to any digital content, books, or subscription benefits tied to this account.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Please cancel those separately in your Google Play or App Store account settings.
Deleting your Benedictus app account does not delete a separate sophiainstitute.com store account, if you have one. Contact us if you would like that removed as well.
